Lips

Lip fillers are very popular. Beautiful, voluminous lips give a youthful appearance and are the eye-catcher in a face. In addition, the volume of the lips decreases as we age.

Many people still think that Botox is used to plump lips. However, we fill the lips with a hyaluronic acid filler. Hyaluronic acid occurs naturally in the skin and your body breaks it down itself

Tear Gutter / Red Light District

The so-called 'tear trough' is hereditary in some people and is caused by volume loss in others. A sunken tear trough gives a tired appearance and is difficult to camouflage with concealer due to the difference in depth. Dark discoloration due to pigment changes or translucent blood vessels, as well as fine lines and excess skin will not disappear after a tear trough treatment. muscles in the face temporarily. This gives the skin a chance to recover and wrinkles caused by muscle movement will fade. In addition, we prevent these wrinkles from getting deeper.

To sleep

Due to loss of volume or due to the construction of the skeleton, the temples of the face may have collapsed. This sometimes gives a tired appearance.

With hyaluronic acid filler we can fill the temples so that they are in harmony with the rest of the face.

Cheekbones

Voluminous cheekbones give the face a fresh look and are associated with natural beauty. As we age, our skin produces less collagen and we lose fat in the face. Gravity slowly but surely creates a nasolabial and marionette fold.

Also, the 'V-shape' of the face that provides a fresh and youthful appearance will slowly but surely turn into an inverted V-shape, with little volume in the cheekbones, a 'hamster cheek effect' and a less sharply defined jawline. Volume loss in the cheekbones often gives a tired appearance.

With fillers we can restore the volume of the cheekbones or, if desired, accentuate them in a natural way. This can be done in a very subtle way. If we inject filler into the cheekbones in the right place, we can create a lifting effect and thus reduce wrinkles and folds and restore the V-shape for a fresher and more youthful appearance.

You certainly don't have to be afraid of an unnatural, 'sprayed on' look. By applying the correct injection technique, filler in the cheekbones gives a very natural effect, without it having to be visible to the outside world that a filler treatment has been undergone.

Cheeks

As we age, our skin produces less collagen and we lose fat in the face. We get sunken cheeks and gravity slowly but surely creates a nasolabial and puppet fold, a 'hamster cheek effect' and a less sharply defined jawline.

Nasolabial fold

As we age, our skin produces less collagen and we lose fat in the cheekbones and cheeks. Gravity slowly but surely creates a nasolabial and marionette fold.

If you are bothered by a nasolabial fold, it is often advised to restore the volume of the cheekbones and/or cheeks. Filling the cheekbones/cheeks gives a lifting effect and the nasolabial fold is remedied in the most natural way. You can also choose to have some filler injected into the nasolabial fold itself

Puppet area

As we age, our skin produces less collagen and we lose fat in the cheekbones and cheeks. Gravity slowly but surely creates a puppet fold and the corners of the mouth will droop. This often gives a sad look and some are regularly asked whether they are sad or angry.

If you are disturbed by a marionette fold, it is often advised to restore the volume of the cheekbones and/or cheeks, possibly in combination with the (front) jawline. Filling the cheekbones / cheeks gives a lifting effect and the marionette fold is remedied in the most natural way. In addition, filler is often injected into the puppet area itself and the corners of the mouth can be lifted.

Lines around the mouth
Movements of the mouth, genetic factors, loss of volume, but also smoking and sunlight cause more and more lines around the mouth as we get older; the so-called 'smokers' lines'. We can fill these lines with a hyaluronic acid filler.

Corners of mouth

Due to loss of volume and as we age, the corners of the mouth will droop more and more. This has a sad or angry look to it, while you may not even be!

By injecting filler in the right place, we can lift the corners of the mouth.

Sometimes it may be necessary to also fill in the area under the corners of the mouth; the marionette area or marionette fold.

Jawline

As we age, our skin produces less collagen and we lose fat in the face. Gravity slowly but surely creates a less sharply defined jawline. With fillers we can create a sharp jawline or, if desired, accentuate the jawline in a natural way.

Chin

The chin is very important in a face and determines the face shape. If the chin is retracted or small in relation to the rest of the face, a chin correction can be performed with fillers. This also ensures that the jawline comes forward more beautifully.

WHAT ARE FILLERS?

Fillers are injectable gels that belong to the group of injectables. They are inserted under the skin with a thin needle. Fillers give immediate volume, which we use, for example, to fill up the lips or to give more volume to the cheeks. In addition, we can fill wrinkles and lines with fillers, such as the smoker's lines or the nasolabial fold.

THE TREATMENT

Doctor Marie uses a very safe, temporary, A-brand hyaluronic acid filler; Belotero®. Belotero® is currently the market leader in fillers in the Netherlands and has been shown to be safe and effective in several scientific studies.

The filler contains lidocaine which has an anesthetic effect. The treatment is therefore experienced very well in terms of pain.

AFTER TREATMENT

Please note that the lips are swollen after the treatment; they look fuller than the final result. Most swelling will be considerably reduced after 1-2 days, the end result will only be visible after 2 weeks. Bruising can also occur.

After the treatment you can cool the lips. Try to avoid direct contact with the skin on the first day and do not use lipstick or makeup on the lips to avoid infections of the lips.

Also avoid a visit to a tanning bed or sauna for 2 weeks, be careful in the sun and do not undergo laser or beauty treatments.

On average, a hyaluronic acid filler gives an effect of 6-12 months, depending on how quickly your body breaks down the hyaluronic acid. Smoking and sunlight will speed up this process.

There is an antidote to a hyaluronic acid filler; hyaluronidase. Hyaluronidase can be used to directly dissolve (injected) hyaluronic acid.
